Something that makes me really contended is knowing that when Vincent was painting this piece, it was truly, a starry night. There were hardly any lights or pollution affecting the atmosphere at that time so you could really experience a sky filled with stars and to me, that’s what makes this piece of his so beautiful, that what he attempted to capture was a pure Starry Night, something I can only imagine or need to travel great distances to see for myself. What he based this painting off of was something far more magnificent than you or I. The fact that he was able to capture it, even for a little while, is something I’m eternally grateful for.
